The BELLE Michigan Fund, LP is an early stage investment fund building great companies in Michigan, the Midwest, and other regions. We provide a premier source of human and financial capital to women-led companies. We look for capital-efficient enterprises with a unique product or service that fill an urgent market need. BELLE Michigan partners believe human capital is just as valuable as financial capital. We seek investments in high growth, capital efficient and scalable enterprises that welcome our expertise and insight, and seek to leverage our leadership and experience. We seek high net worth investors, who are new to early stage investing, and provide them with the opportunity to engage with our portfolio companies. BELLE Michigan targets investments in technology-enabled services, life sciences/medical devices, mobile/internet/IT, advanced manufacturing and CleanTech market sectors. We invest in companies who have female leadership or commit to recruiting women to the C-suite and Board of Directors. We seek teams with strong domain expertise, and proven commercialization and entrepreneurial experience.

    To The Market operates a proprietary platform that vets ethical and sustainable businesses and uses technology to connect brands with a syndicated network of suppliers. Founded in 2016 by Jane Mosbacher Morris, the company aims to democratize access to the global supply chain while protecting the environment and promoting women-founded businesses. Its syndicated supply chain includes over 200 makers in 50 countries and it supplies retailers such as Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Burlington and Bloomingdales. The company emphasizes ethical and sustainable retail manufacturing and says its vendor matrix gives it a competitive lead. To The Market weathered pandemic disruptions by offering diversified sourcing when makers were unable to get goods out of China. The company has about 20 employees and plans to use new funding to expand the team, develop technology and capture more market.

Its product suite includes one-stop inventory management, operational analytics, and digital marketing to increase visibility and efficiency across the commercial vehicle supply chain. CIBC Innovation Banking has provided growth capital financing to support further development of the company’s SaaS platform and expansion of market presence. Rubicon Technology Partners is participating alongside CIBC in the financing. The company says the capital will be used to continue product development and support customers navigating supply-chain complexities. The announcement did not disclose a financing amount or a detailed instrument breakdown. Work Truck Solutions offers marketing and commercial inventory management services that let dealers display commercial vehicles online and enable buyers to search dealer inventory by truck body type. The dealer-facing service went live in January 2013 and the company’s portfolio also helps body manufacturers and distributors allow end customers to locate in-stock inventory nationwide. Over 600 commercial dealers and numerous body manufacturers and distributors use its services. The company will use new funding to accelerate expansion of its services. Work Truck Solutions is led by CEO and founder Kathryn Schifferle and is based in Chico, California.

The company is a spinout from the University of Michigan Law School and is led by CEO MJ Cartwright. Court Innovations is based in Ann Arbor, Mich. It raised over $1.8m in funding to support its growth. The company intends to use the funds to roll out Matterhorn nationally.
