Fetch offers a mobile commerce application where users request products by typing, speaking, or snapping a photo, after which trained human shopping assistants locate the lowest price and place the order through the customer’s account. The service relies on a network of 50 contract assistants who are paid per transaction, while Fetch earns affiliate commissions from merchants. By emphasizing human expertise rather than purely algorithmic search, the company aims to differentiate itself from large incumbents such as Amazon and Google Shopping Express. Fetch is currently free to use, though management plans to roll out premium, subscription-based features in the future. The product launched publicly onstage at TechCrunch Disrupt New York with iOS and Android availability. Founder and CEO Tom Hadfield previously built and sold Soccernet to ESPN for $40 million, giving the startup seasoned leadership. While exact user numbers or revenue were not disclosed, the firm has secured seed backing to fund further product development and assistant scaling.
