M-Utron specializes in maintenance of nuclear power plants and develops next-generation maintenance equipment, processes, and operator training. The company has developed proprietary BMI nozzle replacement software and associated gateway software for equipment that measures internal reactor conditions. M-Utron completed BMI nozzle replacements at Kori unit 4 in 2023 and at Hanbit unit 1 in 2024, demonstrating operational experience. The company is actively pursuing R&D to improve equipment and process automation. With recent financing, M-Utron plans to finalize development of automated equipment specifically for replacing aging BMI nozzles and to conduct technology tests and stability verifications with major nuclear firms. It is also exploring expansion into the small modular reactor (SMR) sector.
