  Founded in 2023 in Pessac near Bordeaux, Luchrome develops Lusight™, an electrochromic, bistable e‑paper display printed by screen‑printing onto paper without solvents or rare metals. The technology, originating from academic research at the Institut de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Bordeaux, is produced locally in Pessac and is claimed to consume ten times less energy, cost one‑third of conventional displays to produce and have up to sixty times lower environmental impact. Luchrome targets IoT applications including cold‑chain monitoring for high‑value pharmaceuticals, logistics labels, smart packaging and single‑use medical diagnostics, with a near‑term commercial goal of 25 million units and Lusight™ available for pre‑order in 2026. The company has formed a partnership with BeFC to pair its paper display with a compostable paper‑based battery and has been scaling manufacturing capacity with funds raised to acquire a second industrial tool.

• Skydrone Robotics

  Skydrone Robotics is a La Rochelle–based drone manufacturer that has evolved over the past decade from a start-up into a small industrial SME focused on both civil and military applications. Its aircraft are tailored for logistics missions such as transporting supplies for armed forces and performing inspection work on electrical power lines. The company currently employs about 20 people—three-quarters of whom are engineers—and is hiring 10 additional staff to support expansion. Fresh capital will finance a new 2,000 m² plant capable of assembling several hundred drones per year, marking a shift from prototyping to scaled production. Management’s stated ambition is to become a leading player in the European civil-military drone market. Besides ramping manufacturing, funds will also bolster R&D and operational capacity to meet growing demand.

  Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Roscoff, SeaBeLife engineers dual-acting small molecules designed to block both necroptosis and ferroptosis, two regulated cell-death pathways that drive tissue damage in several acute and chronic diseases. Its lead candidates are SBL03 for dry age-related macular degeneration (with recent positive in-vivo data in geographic atrophy) and SBL01 for severe acute hepatitis, both addressing large unmet medical needs. The company plans to begin first-in-human clinical trials in 2026. SeaBeLife’s pipeline is positioned as a potentially transformative, first-in-class approach to organ protection, differentiating it from single-pathway competitors. To date, the firm has attracted €9 million in total funding through a mix of equity and public grants, including support from Bpifrance, SATT Ouest Valorisation, Biotech Santé Bretagne, and the Région Bretagne. The new capital strengthens its runway as the team prepares for a larger Series A round to finance clinical studies and expand development of its multi-target platform.

  Medicud develops DRYUM, an incisional negative pressure wound therapy system designed to provide constant negative pressure to surgical incisions. DRYUM is single-use, portable and non-electronic, intended to be affordable and to reduce training time for healthcare staff. The company has raised over €1.3M in seed funding and €2.5M in total since inception. Proceeds will be used to initiate the regulatory process and accelerate clinical development, beginning with a first trial in orthopedic surgery (THA and TKA) at Ospedale Pietro e Michele Ferrero in Piedmont, Italy. That trial, led by Prof. Marco Schiraldi, will enroll 59 patients. Medicud plans to expand its team, recruit a commercial director, and pursue a Series A expected in H1 2026 to support commercialization and entry into EU and US markets, targeting cesarean section, total hip and knee arthroplasty, and breast reconstruction after mastectomy.

• Aerix Systems

  Aerix Systems, founded in 2020, builds the AXS Micro, a small, highly agile aerial robot with a 40 cm wingspan, 4 kg weight and a top speed of 200 km/h. The machine can fly on its edge or back, execute abrupt direction changes and operate in winds up to 100 km/h. Aerix targets defense counter‑drone use—particularly against FPV drones—and industrial inspection on hard‑to‑reach sites. After a €1.6 million raise in 2024, the company secured an additional €5 million to industrialize production. Its immediate plan is to launch manufacturing at a rate of several hundred units per month. The new funding is intended to support that production ramp.
