SWISSto12 develops and manufactures satellite payloads and a compact geostationary platform called HummingSat, leveraging patented design and manufacturing technologies including 3D printing. Its HummingLink payload and antenna solutions have been deployed over 2,000 times across active missions, and the company is delivering payloads for several LEO constellations as well as seven HummingSat GEO platforms. SWISSto12 has secured contracts with major global operators including SES and Viasat for HummingSat and has more than $500 million in contracted orders. The company reported $140 million in revenue for 2025, achieved a 110% compound annual growth rate since 2022, and is expected to reach positive EBITDA in 2026. SWISSto12 plans to use recent funding to scale manufacturing and integration capacity to meet growing commercial and sovereign demand across multiple orbits.

Qubic develops Kinetic Inductance Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifiers (KI-TWPAs), ultra-low-noise, wide-bandwidth microwave amplifiers intended for reading out superconducting qubits and compatible with other qubit modalities. Its amplifiers derive nonlinear inductance from the transmission line material rather than Josephson junctions, aiming for a more robust, scalable device that operates near the quantum limit and supports multiplexed qubit readout. Qubic reports heat dissipation for its amplifiers is expected to be cut to under 0.1 mW per amplifier, addressing a key bottleneck in cryogenic quantum systems. The company has sold its devices to Quantum Machines and plans to scale manufacturing to meet demand from quantum computing and defense customers. Qubic is also developing an RF quantum sensing platform leveraging its amplifier technology for applications such as threat detection and covert communications, and intends to grow its team three-fold to achieve these goals.

Nukik is advancing the Kivalliq Hydro‑Fibre Link project, which aims to deliver hydro power and fibre connectivity to northern communities. The company is moving the project into a development phase that includes engineering, design, and environmental fieldwork. Nukik announced it has received an additional $2.8 million from Canada’s Northern REACHE Program to support these activities. This funding builds on previous federal support for the earlier planning and feasibility phase. Construction for the project is expected to begin by 2028. Nukik also announced a partnership with Arctic Gateway Group and the Town of Churchill to advance a strategic northern infrastructure and energy corridor.

Founded in 2018 by Uchi Uchibeke, World Innovation League (WIL) is a nonprofit tech talent accelerator that evolved from NaijaHacks to AfricHacks and now WIL. The organisation runs programs offering tech skills training, mentorship, hackathon participation and short-term work experience. The current $1.2M funding will be used to equip Africans and Black immigrants in Canada with tech skills and to establish an accelerator programme. WIL aims to increase representation of Black Canadians and new immigrants in key tech roles by 50% over the next five years. The immediate programme funded by this round will train 500 participants within four months. Historically, NaijaHacks/AfricHacks grew to over 1,300 then 2,800 participants and at one point offered ₦100 million (approximately $72,000) in prizes.

General Fusion develops magnetized-target fusion technology that uses deuterium-tritium fuel, a magnetic field generated by current through the fuel, and a liquid lithium wall compressed by steam-driven pistons. The company recently activated LM26, a half-scale prototype of a commercial-scale reactor, and had aimed for scientific breakeven in 2026 when commissioning the device. After laying off at least 25% of staff in May, the company publicly appealed for funding and said it is still pursuing scientific breakeven, while listing intermediary goals of heating plasmas to 10 million and 100 million degrees Celsius. The firm reported that the new cash will allow more time to run LM26 and work toward key scientific milestones. Given the limited size of the fresh funding, the company appears likely to prioritize nearer-term scientific milestones to try to secure additional investment.
