Fastbreak AI develops cloud-based software that uses artificial intelligence to generate balanced, travel-efficient schedules and manage day-to-day operations for professional sports leagues. Its platform is already used by more than 55 leagues globally, including marquee organizations such as the NBA, NHL, AFL, Serie A and MLS. The product also streamlines back-office workflows, improving efficiency for teams, venues and league administrators. With fresh Series A capital, Fastbreak AI plans to accelerate product development and broaden its international footprint. Headquartered in Charlotte, NC, the company positions itself as the category leader in sports scheduling solutions and is focused on converting that lead into sustained revenue growth and deeper league integrations.

  • Tech Spark AI

    Participated · Seed · Nov 2023

Tech Spark AI builds Spark Plug, a generative AI platform and web application intended as a Black-owned alternative to mainstream AI chat/search tools. Its first iteration translates classic literature into modern language and into African American Vernacular English (AAVE), targeting Gen Z users. The company also offers LearningDNA, an assessment tool that personalizes instruction (for example, presenting concepts via hip-hop melodies for auditory learners). Spark Plug was trained using input from the founder's daughter, Harlem Renaissance authors, and civil rights activists, and has partnered with educational institutions in the U.S. and Canada, prioritizing underserved Black and brown communities. The team plans to expand the number of dialects the product can translate to reflect diverse Black voices globally. Tech Spark AI has faced fundraising challenges but has secured external support to develop its inclusive generative-AI offering. Tech Spark develops Spark Plug, an AI- and data-driven personalized learning platform designed primarily for Black middle school students. Spark Plug uses a proprietary algorithm to identify each student’s intelligence type and learning level and delivers culturally responsive content—including hip-hop/pop audio medleys—to reinforce reading and math concepts. The company provides teachers with data insights and curriculum-aligned content tailored to students’ cultural intelligence. Tech Spark positions its product as a way to mitigate pandemic-related learning loss that disproportionately affects Black students. The company says it is poised to reach over 40,000 students in school districts in Canada and the US by 2024. The organization also describes itself as Canada’s first edtech and curriculum design school committed to empowering racialized students, women, and teachers. Tamar Huggins is the founder and CEO who leads product and company strategy.

  • Videocites

    Participated · Series B · Mar 2023

Videocites provides an AI-based SaaS analytics solution that tracks clips across social media and large archives to reveal the social impact created by fans and partners. Its core technology uses AI-generated identification and video-fingerprinting to recognize and analyze user-generated content and trademarked assets, and offers contextual search and video identifiers to measure engagement. Founded in 2014 by Aviad Louzon, Eyal Arad, Michael Bronstein, and Ze’ev Ganor, the company began with novel AI-based products for video tracking and handling across the web. Videocites said it will use the $10M Series B to grow its global presence and hire sales and business development professionals to expand offerings to brands and content owners in the United States and Europe. The NBA already uses Videocites to track how its content is used by fans on social media and to gain greater insights into global reach and brand exposure. Videocites positions its platform to turn social perception into quantifiable data and to help rights holders identify and monetize new revenue streams from fan-generated content.

  • Zigazoo

    Participated · Series A · Jun 2022

Zigazoo operates a kid-safe social app that lets users make and share video responses to challenges from vetted children’s brands and talent. The company has integrated NFTs into the app, enabling users to buy, sell, trade, and include token art in profiles and videos; its NFT drops have sold out. Zigazoo’s NFTs are built on the Flow blockchain and the app has partnered on drops with Moonbug Entertainment, Invisible Universe’s Qai Qai, and digital artist Nyla Hayes. The company plans to expand Web3 offerings by running additional NFT drops, increasing in-app token utility (richer trading options and a new fan club experience), and building a creator studio and user-driven NFT marketplace. Zigazoo says it will use new capital to grow toward becoming the leading social network for kids to interact directly with creators and brands in kids’ media. The company is Miami-based and announced a $17M Series A to support these plans; the post-money valuation was not disclosed.
