The Parentinc operates the parenting community theAsianparent and the Mama’s Choice D2C brand, which manufactures and sells halal pregnancy, nursing and baby-care products. Headquartered in Singapore, the company also has offices in Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Mumbai. The business began as a blog founded by CEO Roshni Mahtani Cheung and has grown into a regional content, community and commerce player. The company announced a $22 million raise, part of which was structured as venture debt. It counts strategic shareholders such as LINE Southeast Asia, JD.com and SCB 10X, and plans to use the new capital to expand theAsianparent and Mama’s Choice into three new markets before the end of 2022, including Vietnam and a U.S. launch. TechCrunch last covered the company in 2019 when it raised a Series C.
