Aurora Labs is an Ethereum-compatible developer platform built on top of the NEAR Protocol that provides an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with high throughput and low transaction costs. The platform lets developers use ETH as the base token rather than introducing a new native token. Aurora operates bridges between Ethereum and NEAR and between Ethereum and Aurora to enable cross-chain activity. The company plans to update its Rainbow Bridge to allow NFTs to move seamlessly between NEAR and Ethereum. Other products in development include a price oracle, a data indexer, a block explorer and more. Aurora intends to use recent funding to continue EVM and bridge development and to expand its 25-person team by hiring additional blockchain engineers.
