Overview

Contriber is building a more human, online collaboration software with a visual approach to organizing projects. Designed for teams, this software provides a set of tools for better team cooperation. The first set is a day-to-day collaboration environment to maintain all team communication and task-time-management including emails, group-chat, files, calendar, decisions, and more… The second set is a suite of tools that we refer to as teamwork tools. These tools make use of psychological processes that are intended to take teamwork to the next level. They help with showing where things get stuck and how to build an Intelligent Cooperation among team members. A team's magic is found in its members and in understanding how they can better relate to one another. This is the key to every team's success.

Ready Player Me is a metaverse avatar platform that lets users build custom avatars from photos or from scratch and use them across more than 900 apps and games. The company aims to make avatars portable across virtual worlds and to become the default avatar system for the metaverse. It plans to use the funding to scale its partner network and build monetization tools for developers, including avatar customization assets and NFT offerings. Future projects highlighted include NFT wearables and virtual fashion for avatars. Ready Player Me has partnered with brands such as Dior, New Balance, and Deadmau5 on avatar and NFT initiatives. The company reported platform adoption growth from 25 to 900 companies in 2021 and closed a $13M funding round to support expansion and monetization efforts. Wolf3D builds Ready Player Me, a virtual-identity platform that creates full-body avatars from a selfie which can be transported between multiple games. The product supports many artistic styles to fit different game genres and aims to modernize in-game social identity. The company plans to scale Ready Player Me from the browser to the smartphone with the new funding. Wolf3D began in 2014 as a full-body 3D scanning studio and launched its Luna 3D scanner in early 2016 to reduce avatar creation costs. The team says it cut the average avatar creation cost from about $400 down to almost $0 and opened an office in LA in 2016. Timmu Tõke is the founder and CEO.

  • Speakly

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2020

Speakly offers a science-based language learning platform built around the statistical relevance of words and sentences to help learners practice common interactions and real-life conversations sooner. The underlying technology — statistical relevance lists and mathematical algorithms — has been developed over several years. Co-founders Ott Ojamets and Ingel Keskpaik, who each speak seven languages, created the approach and lead the company. The startup claims its method is five times faster and ten times more affordable than traditional learning methods. Lessons are currently available in eight languages, including Estonian, English, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian and German. The €900,000 seed round will fund the addition of more languages and new product features.

  • Timbeter

    Participated · Seed · Jan 2020

Timbeter provides AI-powered timber measurement and data-management tools that let users measure log diameters, log count and log pile density in minutes using a smartphone. The company claims measurement accuracy of 95% or above and maintains a timber database of 1.5 million images; a Poznan University benchmarking study found its results statistically identical to ground-truth physical measurements. Trusted by global blue-chip corporates and state government forest owners, Timbeter aims to increase transparency and sustainability across the timber supply chain. Founded in 2013 and based in Tallinn, the startup positions its technology to help combat illegal logging and support ESG-aligned forestry practices. The business emphasizes a digital transformation of the forestry sector to improve efficiency and oversight. Recent financing will support continued development and broader engagement with policymakers and industry decision-makers. Timbeter developed a smartphone application that uses AI to measure timber quickly and accurately and has evolved into a logistics and reporting platform. Its technology helps forestry companies speed up operations, increase employee safety, save resources, and comply with transparency, forest governance and legal-trade requirements. The startup has compiled the world’s largest database of photometric measurements of roundwood, enabling live online tracking of timber assets down to individual shipments and piles. Compared to traditional methods, Timbeter’s algorithms reportedly cut measurement and documentation times by 10 and increase accuracy by five times. The platform serves over 20,000 users in more than 60 countries and is available in 14 languages. Founded in 2013 and based in Tallinn, the company raised $1 million in a seed round and plans to use the funding to expand in Southeast Asia and Latin America.
