Participated · Seed · Oct 2024
Drop Protocol operates a liquid staking protocol for Interchain assets that lets users auto-compound staking rewards while retaining the ability to deploy assets into various dApps for additional yield and utility. The protocol issues DROP rewards, keeps users eligible for airdrops, and allows holders to exit positions at any time. Drop says its product drives asset inflows to Interchain dApps and increases economic activity on networks without sacrificing network security. The company is led by Mitya Argunov and is an inaugural member of the Lido Alliance. Since launch, Drop has attracted over 10,000 unique users and enabled roughly $20M of digital assets to be deployed across different dApps and DeFi opportunities. The firm intends to use the Seed funding to strengthen the economic viability of sovereign blockchain economies.
- Passage
Participated · Equity · Jul 2023
Passage provides a platform for creating and connecting 3D virtual worlds and experiences, transforming static pages into immersive, interactive places. The platform is built with Cosmos and leverages technologies like Unreal Engine 5; it is blockchain-agnostic and supports in-browser streaming, cross-world commerce for fungible tokens and NFTs, decentralized social functionality, and 3D communication infrastructure. Passage supports a native token, PASG, designed for governance and decentralized 3D assets and to incentivize open-source development and creator contributions. PASG is backed by a SaaS-style revenue model, with up to 50% of profits directed to network security via staking incentives. Led by founder and Chief Creative Officer Lex Avellino, the company plans to use new funding to further develop its world-building tools, build out a social dashboard and enterprise solution, and add tooling for open-source contributions and technology partnerships like Sortium. Passage is based in Road Town, British Virgin Islands.
- Stride Labs
Participated · Seed · Aug 2022
StrideCosmos is a liquid staking protocol that provides liquid staking support services for the Cosmos Hub. Its core product issues stATOM tokens to participants who can use them across the Cosmos ecosystem or sell them immediately to obtain liquidity. The protocol enables users to maintain staking exposure while preserving token liquidity. The company announced it completed a $4 million strategic financing. The round was disclosed in a statement on X. No operating metrics or additional financial details were provided in the article. Stride is the first feature-complete liquid staking zone in the Cosmos ecosystem, offering a multichain liquid staking protocol and a vertically integrated app UX that enables staking across IBC-compatible blockchains. Users who stake with Stride receive stTokens that earn auto-compounding staking rewards and can be used in DeFi or sold for instant liquidity. The protocol currently supports Cosmos Hub (stATOM) and plans to add a wide slate of IBC-compatible assets by year-end, including Juno (stJUNO), Secret (stSCRT), Osmosis (stOSMO), Kava (stKAVA) and others. Stride emphasizes safety and security, is audited by Certik and Oak Security, already offers redemptions to mitigate liquid-staking depeg risk, and plans additional measures such as rate-limiting. Founded in March 2022 and led by Vishal Talasani, Riley Edmunds, and Aidan Salzmann, the team is working closely with top validators and pursuing integrations with Cosmos DeFi platforms. The company raised US$6.7M in seed funding and will use proceeds to recruit technical and non-technical talent, enhance product offerings, and grow both the Stride and Cosmos ecosystems.
