- Get Covered
Participated · Series A · Nov 2021
Get Covered provides insurance technology products and services for the multifamily industry that simplify buying, selling and tracking insurance across lease terms. The platform ensures residents meet a community’s minimum required policy and enables renters to purchase customized policies from A‑rated carriers. For owner/operators, Get Covered embeds insurance tracking into existing processes and offers a backend policy admin portal for certificate of insurance (COI) verification, tracking, billing and policy administration. The company plans to use new funding to innovate products, increase staffing and grow partnerships with insurance carriers, agencies and proptech companies. It also intends to expand its client base of renters, apartment owner/operators and property managers and to grow strategically in new and existing markets. Operationally, Get Covered added more than 600,000 units to its activation and COI tracking platform in 2022 and is deployed in over 3,500 apartment communities across 48 states. GetCovered.io provides a customizable tenant-facing storefront to purchase insurance from A-rated carriers and a backend policy administration portal for COI verification, tracking, billing and policy administration. The platform supports renters’ insurance, master liability programs, security deposit alternatives and other risk-management products for both residential and commercial leases. Its API integrates with property-management systems including Yardi Voyager, Onesite, MRI and Entrata, and the platform powers proptechs such as Belong Homes, Obie Risk and Knox Financial. GetCovered counts more than five hundred insurance carriers and agencies as clients and lists commercial partners including Updater, Marsh, NFP and Confie. Founded in 2018, the company says its mission is to become the “Shopify of Insurance” by giving smaller property managers and agencies access to the same tools as large companies. The recent financing is intended to accelerate embedding insurance tracking and administration into real-estate workflows and expand distribution through strategic partners.
- JobGet
Participated · Seed · Oct 2020
JobGet operates a mobile-first job marketplace and community built specifically for hourly and shift workers, offering job listings and ways for workers to connect with each other. The company plans to add tools such as training and career development to support career progression for its users. JobGet reports 2 million mobile app downloads and about 10 million website users, with 50,000 companies posting jobs (up from 1,000 three years earlier) and 300,000 conversations on the platform in the last year. Its customer list includes employers like Home Depot, California Pizza Kitchen, Showcase Cinemas and Taco Bell. The current monetization model is employers paying for job listings; the company says it has no immediate plans for advertising or paid memberships. JobGet emphasizes a human-centric product approach tailored to shift-work needs and is actively hiring, having recently added ZipRecruiter’s former CPO Ryan Eberhard as president and Louisa Cartwright (formerly VP of People at Headspace) in a people role. JobGet is a Boston-based mobile job platform for hourly workers that leverages AI matching technology to connect qualified job seekers with nearby businesses. Employers use in-app messaging and video chat to schedule interviews in real time, often reducing time-to-hire from weeks to less than 24 hours. The company launched regionally in Massachusetts with eight initial employer partners and, within its first year, grew to more than 5,000 employer partner locations. Employer partners range from national chains such as Home Depot, McDonald’s, Block by Block, National Guard, Domino’s and Shake Shack to local businesses like Dig Inn and Expressions. Co-founded in 2019 by Tony Liu, Peter Lee and Billy Lan, JobGet raised seed funding to support expansion. The company plans to use the funding to launch a national expansion following its regional rollout.
