Participated · Series A · Dec 2023
Agtonomy is a South San Francisco–based software and services company that brings autonomous operation to agriculture, turf, and broader land-maintenance markets. Its physical AI platform is integrated directly into commercial equipment through partnerships with leading original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs), enabling machines to navigate and work autonomously in orchards, vineyards, fields, and managed green spaces. The technology is designed to reduce labor costs, boost safety, and promote more sustainable farming and land-care practices. Agtonomy generates revenue by licensing its software and providing related automation services to OEM partners and end-customers. To date, the company has secured $18 million in Series B funding and counts investors such as DBL Partners, Nuveen, Autotech, Allison Transmission, Rethink Food, and Black Forest Ventures on its cap table. The new capital will be used to enhance the platform’s capabilities, broaden equipment integrations, and scale commercial deployments into adjacent off-road industries.
- Greenzie
Participated · Equity · Oct 2022
Greenzie is an Atlanta, GA–based autonomous software company led by CEO Charles Brian Quinn that aims to free humans from repetitive outdoor labor. Its core product is software for autonomous commercial lawn mowers and the Robotic Ready program, which gives manufacturers the ability to upfit mowers with industry-standard autonomous mowing functionality. The company already has a fleet of robotic workers deployed with customers in the field. Greenzie plans to use recent funding to grow its engineering team, add additional manufacturers to the Robotic Ready program, and continue expanding its deployed fleet. The article does not disclose revenue or other operating metrics. Greenzie produces software and sensor kits that allow commercial lawn mowers to cut lawns autonomously; Wright Manufacturing supplies the physical mowers which are outfitted with Greenzie sensors. Twelve Greenzie mowers are currently in use by landscaping companies including BrightView and Juniper Landscaping. The company is led by CEO Charles Quinn and operates a Westside lab space to test machines. Greenzie has 15 employees and was launched from the Atlanta Ventures Studio. With the new funding, the startup plans to expand its fleet, double headcount over the next year, and partner with more manufacturers to scale rollout. Greenzie is focused on commercial mowing today but plans to support smaller, more intricate lawns and to shift human workers into higher‑paid technician roles while automating repetitive outdoor labor.
