  • Frenos

    Led · Seed · Jul 2026

Frenos provides an OT security platform that builds a digital twin of a customer's network and uses its AI reasoning agent, SAIRA, to run fully simulated penetration tests that mimic attacker behavior without scanning hardware or risking production. The platform prioritizes exploitable attack paths and reduces assessment time from months to minutes with zero operational impact. Frenos reported strong growth metrics: ARR up more than 10x since early 2025, 215% revenue growth in H1 2026, a 2.7x year-over-year increase in pipeline, a fivefold rise in average deal size, and 2026 bookings already quadrupling full-year 2025. In one customer environment, SAIRA analyzed over 12,000 OT vulnerability findings and surfaced the eight that were actually exploitable, cutting remediation noise by 99.9%. The company is launching SAIRA Co-Work to provide a persistent OT security co-worker and is researching a next-generation foundation model for long-context reasoning and autonomous workflows. Frenos is based in Fulton, Md.

  • Luffy AI

    Participated · Series A · Jul 2026

Luffy AI builds a neuroplastic AI platform that uses sparse neural networks trained in simulation and refined during real-world operation to enable real-time adaptive control without relying on large datasets or continuous cloud retraining. The technology is initially deployed in industrial motor control and integrated with variable frequency drive (VFD) systems such as pumps, fans and conveyor systems. Luffy’s approach aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce commissioning time and optimise performance in physical systems. The company plans to expand into additional applications including robotics, drones and thermal process control. Luffy is commercialising its solutions through proof-of-concept projects and pilot deployments with industrial customers and will use new funding to convert those into long-term partnerships and scale rollout. Dr Matthew Carr is a co-founder and CEO and has framed the funding as enabling increased delivery and deployment efforts.

  • Surveily

    Led · Series A · Jun 2026

Surveily develops an edge AI platform that connects to existing CCTV infrastructure (compatible with over 95% of digital cameras) to analyse video locally in real time, with no cloud dependency. Deployments across chemical, metals, energy, logistics, and oil & gas facilities have produced metrics the company cites such as a 62% reduction in incidents and an eightfold increase in near-miss reporting. The platform is modular and edge-native, designed to keep data on-premises, reduce latency, and improve privacy for industrial sites. Founded in 2019, the company has a 13-person team with experience in AI, computer vision, and industrial systems. Surveily plans to use its new funding to add more advanced hazard detection capabilities, scale deployments across targeted sectors, and expand into the U.S. market.

  • Eigen Innovations

    Participated · Equity · Oct 2024

Eigen Innovations develops AI-enabled in-line quality inspection solutions that combine thermal cameras with AI software to capture and consolidate inspection data and generate consistent digital records of every product. Founded in 2012 and led by CEO Erin Barrett, the company focuses on thermal imaging to detect issues in real time, reduce defects, and standardize inspection processes. Its platform enables manufacturers to automate quality control and train scalable AI models that deliver consistent, real-time analysis. Eigen has developed portable demos to showcase its solutions to prospective customers and accelerate sales. The new funding will help expand its AI-powered in-line inspection technology and thermal imaging applications across manufacturing. Investors and management cite a growing customer base and significant market opportunities for the company. Eigen Innovations builds IoT-enabled, AI-driven tools that help manufacturers tackle production issues and improve operations. The company says its AI-enabled technology is used by prominent brands in automotive manufacturing and is expanding its industrial manufacturing business. Eigen plans to bring greater depth and diversity to its team as it continues to evolve its technology and enhance capabilities to deliver value to clients. The company announced it closed $3.5 million in equity financing to support product development and team growth. Funding was announced at an event at Eigen’s Fredericton headquarters and included participation from public and private investors. Eigen Innovations is a Fredricton-based company that provides software solutions for the Industrial Internet. It built a patented multi-dimensional non-linear software algorithm that leverages "big data" information from industrial equipment to provide control input into the key devices that operate the manufacturing process. The algorithm's optimization capability is intended to deliver more efficient manufacturing operations with improved productivity, increased quality, and lower costs. The company leverages talent and resources from the University of New Brunswick’s faculty of engineering. Eigen received part of a $150,000 convertible-note investment from the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) allocated across three graduates of the Launch36 accelerator. CEO Richard Jones said the public BDC note provides validation and helps in the company's search for new investors. Under the BDC notes, if startups earn the money back through customer revenue the note acts as a loan; otherwise the BDC could seek to recover its investment against company assets.
