MyMusicTaste operates a fan-request platform that lets users request live events and supplies campaign data to artists and promoters to de‑risk tour planning. The startup was founded in December 2013 by CEO Ethan Jaeseok Lee and is headquartered in Seoul. The service has 1.32 million users worldwide, works with 56 promoters and 30 agencies, and has been used to plan more than 140 events in 32 cities. So far this year it has organized 41 concerts and aims to increase that to 100 concerts in 2018. Most users are outside Korea (37% Asia, 27% Europe, 20% North America, 14% South America, remainder in Africa and Oceania) and the company launched in 15 languages last year. MyMusicTaste says it is the market leader for organizing K‑pop concerts in Europe and North America and also works with non‑Korean artists. The company plans to expand into more genres, open regional offices in Los Angeles, Europe and Southeast Asia, and strengthen its data science and engineering teams. MyMusicTaste is a crowdsourcing platform that gauges fan interest and works directly with event planners and artists to organize concerts. Founded/ launched in 2013 and based in Seoul, it has organized 80 concerts in 32 cities and claims 500,000 users, 90% of whom are outside Korea. The platform uses "social missions" — short surveys and social sharing tasks — to identify fans who are likely to purchase tickets. It generates revenue by selling tickets, taking commissions, and promoting concerts; audience sizes have grown from initial 200–300 to events such as an EXO show with 15,000 capacity. The company positions itself against Live Nation by focusing on up-and-coming artists and keeping marketing costs lower through its social-mission model. MyMusicTaste plans to use new funding to expand throughout Asia, add artists from labels in the U.S., Japan, and Thailand, and open an office in China.
