- GoCab
Led · Seed · Jan 2026
GoCab is a London-based mobility and financial services company that combines ride-hailing, vehicle financing, and embedded fintech tools on a single platform. Its core product lets drivers and couriers acquire electric or traditional vehicles via Shariah-compliant, ethical financing structures, integrating repayment with their earnings. The company currently operates in five African countries, employs 120 people, and reports more than $17 million in annual recurring revenue while serving thousands of drivers. Management plans to expand into additional cities, increase the share of electric vehicles in its fleet, and roll out AI-powered credit-scoring and risk-management tools. The platform’s focus on ownership over rental aims to improve driver economics and loyalty. By linking mobility services with financial products, GoCab positions itself at the intersection of transportation and inclusive finance. The recent funding round strengthens its balance sheet with both growth equity and debt capacity to scale operations.
- Plentify
Participated · Series A · Dec 2025
Plentify builds an AI-powered home-energy management system that combines in-house-designed hardware, firmware and data-science models to shift and optimise when appliances such as electric water heaters, batteries and pool pumps draw power. Its analytical, optimisation and predictive models detect faulty appliances, determine ideal on/off cycles and forecast solar generation and demand, respectively. The company already manages close to 100 MWh of distributed water heaters and batteries, creating what it calls a large virtual power plant in partnership with Balwin Properties, Conlog and Wetility. All devices are manufactured in South Africa by Plentify’s full-stack engineering team, which includes alumni from Google, Tesla Energy, NASA and other leading firms. With chronic load-shedding driving a subsidy-free rooftop-solar boom at home, Plentify is now preparing pilot projects in the UK, Australia and Brazil that will run for two to three months. The fresh capital from its Series A round brings its total funding to almost $15 million and will accelerate adoption in South Africa’s property, solar and utility sectors while supporting international expansion efforts.
- GoParity
Participated · Equity · May 2025
Goparity operates a crowdlending platform that channels capital to sustainable projects across almost 20 countries on three continents. Since its 2017 founding it has lent more than €45 million through the platform and in 2024 reported €1 million in revenue for the first time. Projects financed via Goparity have helped prevent over 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, supported the creation of more than 4,700 jobs and had a direct positive impact on around 86,000 people. The company combines institutional investment with retail equity crowdfunding, having twice opened rounds to its investor community via Crowdcube. In its latest community round it gathered more than 800 private investors who contributed €470,000. Goparity plans to grow its investor community mainly in Europe and Canada while reinforcing its presence in South America and other parts of the Southern Hemisphere. Founded in 2017 and based in Lisbon, Goparity runs a 'green bank' fintech marketplace that matches impact-driven projects seeking funding with people who want to invest in sustainability. The platform aims to democratize access to sustainable finance by combining institutional backers with community ownership via equity crowdfunding. Goparity has attracted more than 30,000 users across over 70 countries and reported about €10.4 million invested through its platform in 2022 while doubling turnover that year. Its reported projects have impacted nearly 200,000 people, created 7,000 jobs and helped avoid over 23,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The company highlights a community-led approach—€600k of the latest raise came from platform users and 69% of crowdfunding participants were aged 18–40. Goparity intends to use the new capital to expand across Europe and North America (notably Spain and Canada) and to develop new financial products. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Lisbon, GoParity operates an impact finance platform that lets users invest in projects across sectors such as renewable energy, electric mobility, sustainable aquaculture, eco-fashion, health and education. The platform has gathered a community of 24,000 users and has funded about 200 impact projects across Europe, South America and Africa. GoParity recently launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube that hit its €1.2 million target in one hour and is now accepting overfunding and community shareholders. The company has raised over €1.2 million to date from private investors, including Mustard Seed Maze and Critical Software, as well as business angels, backers and prizes. After launching a new app last month, GoParity plans to expand across Europe and Canada, add new savings and investment products, and grow its team in marketing, development, risk and operations. The firm positions itself to democratize sustainable finance by inviting customers and partners to become shareholders and influence the company’s future.
- YoLa Fresh
Participated · Series A · May 2024
YoLa Fresh operates a platform that connects smallholder farmers directly with traditional fruit and vegetable retailers and food-service customers, tracking produce from farm to retail and enabling next-day delivery. The company offers order placement by midnight with deliveries typically between 7–9 a.m., provides visibility into harvests, and uses stakeholder data to enable financing opportunities. Since launching, YoLa Fresh works with over 1,000 retailers, records up to $1M in monthly GMV, moves over 1,200 tonnes monthly, and averages four transactions weekly per retailer with an 85% customer retention rate. The startup reports a current wastage rate of about 6–7% (down from typical levels) and targets reducing waste to 3% by 2026. It takes a take rate of over 20% and is focused on unit economics to reach a positive contribution margin by end-2024 or Q1 2025, while projecting $40M–$50M in annualized top line by 2026 and planning expansion outside Morocco.
- Hohm Energy
Led · Seed · Feb 2024
Hohm Energy runs a software and marketplace model that automates proposal and custom design processes, matches homeowners with accredited solar installers, and integrates procurement and finance. Its platform includes mobile apps and SaaS tools for installers, a “Home Ranger” supervision feature for installations, and a fulfillment process covering post-sales repair and maintenance. The company has produced more than 17,000 tailored rooftop designs valued at $190 million and has facilitated over $90 million in finance applications to retail banking partners. Average order value on the platform is roughly $8,000–$12,000, and the business reports a 4x–5x increase in GMV and revenue since launch. Hohm partners with South African retail banks (Investec, Nedbank, MFC, WesBank and Capitec) to offer structured financing options including home loans, solar loans and lease‑to‑own. The team says it aims to attain sustainable profitability this year and will use the new funding to double down on its climate‑fintech strategy, bolster technology, and launch a program to train local solar installers. While the model is seen as scalable to other African and emerging markets, Hohm remains focused on deepening its presence in South Africa given ongoing power disruptions.
