Smash Foods develops chia-fortified fruit spreads sweetened with dates rather than added sugar and produces nut-butter snacks called Jammy Protein Bites (and forthcoming Mini Bites) that incorporate its fruit spreads. The brand sources much of its fruit from upcycled sources and develops all products in-house, with classic flavors like Strawberry, Concord Grape, Apricot and Raspberry and an eighth flavor, Fig, planned. Smash’s Jammy Protein Bites launched in 2024 and expanded the business from a jam-focused company into a snacking brand with national distribution in Whole Foods, Costco, Target and roughly half of Walmart locations. The company reports it has surpassed 10,000 doors nationwide, more than tripled its business year-over-year and reached profitability. Management plans to use the new capital to build manufacturing capabilities with meticulous specifications for the Bites and Mini Bites and to invest in brand development and go-to-market scale.
