- Óir na Farraige
Led · Equity · Apr 2026
Óir na Farraige is a newly established Galway-based company focused on expanding seaweed cultivation in Irish waters. The company is collaborating with EIT Food and partners from Ireland and Norway to reduce production costs, improve cultivation efficiency, and connect seaweed biomass with industrial demand. As part of the project, Norwegian partner Arctic Seaweed will demonstrate its integrated cultivation platform in Irish waters for the first time, and University of Galway will assess ecosystem service contributions and life-cycle impacts. Óir na Farraige aims to integrate multiple cultivation steps into a streamlined operational system to simplify deployment, reduce operational complexity, and increase biomass yields per hectare. The company secured project funding totaling €1.5 million and says the demonstration insights will help prepare it for planned commercial production from 2028.
- STILFOLD
Led · Equity · Apr 2024
STILFOLD is a Stockholm-based tech company that commercialises a material‑efficient manufacturing technology aimed at transforming industrial manufacturing and mobility. The company emerged from a research project supported by the Swedish Innovation Agency and is owned and developed by STILRIDE AB. STILFOLD’s technology focuses on simplifying shapes, eliminating welds and optimising construction to reduce material use, waste and environmental impact. It operates as a B2B division, pursuing commercialisation through service offerings, licensing and solution provision. STILFOLD has launched MetaFold Academy, a modular training programme teaching eco-innovation, energy efficiency and resource management to drive green manufacturing across Europe. The programme is backed by almost SEK 5M (€427K) in funding and targets 250 engineers and designers across four training centres, with Volvo Group participating as a pilot customer. Stilride is a Stockholm-based electromobility and industrial tech startup developing STILFOLD, a sustainable production process for forming steel. STILFOLD uses robotic arms to fold steel over curves to create light, strong and durable shapes while minimising resource use and waste, reducing the climate impact versus traditional manufacturing. The company’s first product built with the technology is the Sport Utility Scooter One (SUS1), an e-motorcycle slated for mass-market sale next year. Stilride says it will use the recent funding to accelerate growth, drive innovation and further develop STILFOLD. The company has opened a Crowdcube community fundraise to let individual enthusiasts participate with smaller investments. Stilride was founded by Jonas Nyvang (CEO) and Tue Beijer and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. STILRIDE builds sustainable electric motorcycles using a proprietary STILFOLD 'industrial origami' manufacturing process that uses robots to fold single sheets of steel into lightweight, detailed, and durable chassis and bodies. The technique is designed to reduce the environmental impact of production while producing distinctive, futuristic designs. The company plans to roll out a fleet of electric motorcycles and expects to deliver its first shipment to some 90,000 waiting European customers later this year. Founders Tue Beijer and Jonas Nyvang bring backgrounds in industrial design, engineering and fashion, and have positioned the product at the intersection of technology, mobility and design. STILRIDE is also investigating expanding the lineup to include cargo bikes and trailers. Financially, the company has just closed a €3 million seed round and has raised a total of €4.4 million to date.
- Antegenes
Participated · Seed · Aug 2022
Antegenes develops and implements advanced genetic tests based on polygenic risk score technology to assess individual cancer risk and provide clinical recommendations for personalised prevention. Its tests currently evaluate genetic risk for breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and skin melanoma. The company positions its offerings to enable more accurate prevention and earlier detection measures. Founded in 2018 in Estonia, Antegenes has expanded operations beyond Estonia and the U.K. into Sweden, Norway, Portugal and Spain and plans to enter Germany in the coming months. The company has raised €2.3 million in funding to scale its tests and expand into new markets. Antegenes develops genetic tests that use polygenic risk score technology to assess an individual’s predisposition to cancer and include clinical recommendations for personalised prevention and early detection. Its tests currently evaluate risk for breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer and skin melanoma and provide three actionable data points: absolute 10‑year risk, comparison to the general population of the same age, and relative risk versus the general population. The company’s offering is delivered via a five‑minute saliva test and aims to make genetic risk assessment more accessible and affordable. Products are based on peer‑reviewed international research and have been evaluated and validated using anonymous population data from the Estonian Biobank and UK Biobank. Antegenes has raised €500k and signed a long‑term strategic partnership with UK distributor Everything Genetic Ltd to expand implementation into the UK healthcare system and further develop personalised cancer prevention methods.
