  • Sound Wave Innovation

    Participated · Series C · May 2026

Sound Wave Innovation is developing a therapeutic platform built around Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) aimed at treating early-stage Alzheimer’s disease with its flagship LIPUS-Brain device. Exploratory clinical studies completed in 2022 reported a strong safety profile and suggested potential efficacy for patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s and mild cognitive impairment. In 2022 the LIPUS-Brain system was designated by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as the country’s first “Breakthrough Medical Device” for Alzheimer’s treatment. The company has a strategic manufacturing and commercialization partnership with Sumitomo Heavy Industries, which will oversee manufacturing and distribution while Sound Wave Innovation continues clinical development and IP licensing. Sound Wave Innovation raised about $17 million in a Series C to fund completion of a pivotal confirmatory trial expected to finish by the end of 2026. After the trial the company and its partners are targeting regulatory approval.

  • LIGHTz

    Participated · Series A · Mar 2024

LIGHTz provides an AI platform that visualizes and digitizes skilled engineers' thinking using its proprietary “汎知化” and BrainModel technologies. Its core product, blooplinter, links 3D CAD models with expert knowledge and past-case data so users can retrieve knowledge visually and textually and perform automated checks. The company emphasizes shifting firms from labor‑intensive operations to knowledge‑stocked workflows to improve quality, cost and speed. LIGHTz plans to standardize and scale its汎知化 and BrainModel technologies and further develop and generalize blooplinter for wider adoption across Japan’s manufacturing sector. The company completed a Series A and reported total funding of ¥860 million to accelerate product development and commercialization. It intends to expand regional partnerships, strengthen marketing, and support local manufacturers in addressing skills transfer and productivity challenges.
