- Kamino
Participated · Equity · Mar 2022
Kamino builds a platform that integrates the financial and corporate products early‑stage startups need to raise international venture capital, start operations immediately, and scale. The company creates and manages the offshore and local structures required to receive investment and offers a credit line to startups with a firm commitment from a reputable fund so they can begin operating without waiting for capital inflows. Kamino will provide a full local bank account with no fees, a credit card tailored for digital/SaaS payments, and international remittance services. The team is focused on hiring talent to complete the platform and accelerate product development. CEO and founder Gonzalo Parejo says the long‑term vision is to build new financial infrastructure across Latin America to empower high‑growth companies. The founders include Benjamin Gleason, who previously launched Guiabolso (sold to PicPay), and others with regional fintech experience.
- Kocomo
Participated · Equity · Aug 2021
Kocomo operates a marketplace that lets multiple buyers purchase, own and sell fractional interests in luxury vacation properties, with participants holding actual real-estate ownership rather than timeshare usage rights. The platform purchases homes through LLCs, vets and allocates co-owners, manages legal and administrative processes, and handles maintenance, utilities and other property services; owners can also opt to rent their weeks. Founded this year and operating in stealth since May, Kocomo recently launched a beta to a select waiting list. The company raised $6 million in equity and $50 million in debt to advance its business and property acquisitions. Equity capital will be used to grow the nine-person team (sales, marketing and engineering) and invest in technology; the debt will fund the acquisition of roughly 20 luxury properties in Mexico near international airports. Kocomo plans to initially target Americans and Canadians buying in Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica, with later expansion to Europe, ski and Mediterranean destinations and major cultural centers.
