Abtrace builds an AI-driven platform that plugs into electronic health record (EHR) databases to identify which tests or treatments patients with long-term conditions need and to suggest actions based on individual medical history and wider data. The software automates key elements of disease monitoring, supports GPs and healthcare assistants in making more informed decisions, and prompts proactive early interventions by spotting trends. Founded in 2018, the company spent the last three years developing its deep-learning platform in partnership with clinicians and the NHS. Abtrace plans to use the new funding to roll the technology out to new GP practices across the UK and to expand its engineering and data-science teams. Financially, Abtrace raised £2.1M in seed funding and had previously secured £2M of pre-seed funding from EIT-Health’s Wild Card venture builder programme and UK Research & Innovation. The senior team is led by co-founder and CEO Dr Umar Naeem Ahmad and includes experienced research and compliance leaders and a CTO with a data-science background.
