Sapeon is a Seongnam-si, South Korea-based AI semiconductor company advancing a hyper-cloud AI processor optimized to process artificial intelligence tasks with lower power consumption. The processor is designed to efficiently process large amounts of data simultaneously. Led by CEO Ryu Soojung, the company raised $45M in a Series A that valued it at $378M. The funding round was led by Ascent Equity Partners with participation from GS Group affiliates, Daebo Communication & Systems Co., Hana Financial Group, Mirae Asset Venture Investment, We Ventures, E1 and others. Sapeon intends to use the proceeds to expand operations and accelerate development efforts for its AI processor.
