Huue uses biotechnology to create sustainable, bio-based dyes that mirror how color is produced in nature. Led by CEO and co-founder Michelle Zhu, the company is targeting fashion industry partners for commercial adoption. Huue plans to use new funding to accelerate commercial scale-up of its sustainable indigo dye and to expand beyond indigo to additional colors. It monetizes via medical visit fees, insurance reimbursement for prescriptions, and cash payments; 16% of new patients in the past three months were on Medicaid.
