    Participated · Series A · Jul 2026

Oratomic is developing both hardware and software for fault-tolerant, utility-scale quantum computers using a neutral-atom qubit architecture. The company argues, based on research with Caltech collaborators, that utility-scale systems may be achievable with roughly 10,000 reconfigurable neutral-atom qubits, and co-founder Manuel Endres has demonstrated arrays of about 6,000 trapped atomic qubits. Led by CEO Dolev Bluvstein, the founding team includes researchers from Caltech, UC Berkeley, Harvard, Amazon and Google, and notable scientists such as John Preskill and Manuel Endres. Oratomic is working on error-correction theory, cryogenic chip packaging, algorithm development and scaling fabrication, and coordinates efforts through global developer networks. The company raised $300 million in a Series A to accelerate hardware fabrication, algorithmic research and to grow its physics and engineering teams. Oratomic has highlighted that sufficiently capable fault-tolerant machines could threaten current public-key encryption and said a fault-tolerant quantum computer is plausible by the end of the decade.
