The company acquired three molecules including litoxetine (IXA-001) under exclusive licence from Sanofi, IXA-002 (an MAO A-B inhibitor) and IXA-003 (an MAO B inhibitor). Litoxetine has shown efficacy in preclinical trials and Ixaltis has started proof-of-concept/Phase 2 studies in urinary incontinence. The company says it will use the newly raised funds to continue research into urinary incontinence. FineHeart is a clinical-stage medical device company headquartered in Bordeaux and Tours that is building FlowMaker®, the first fully implantable cardiac output accelerator designed for advanced heart failure. The intraventricular pump synchronizes with native heart contractions, preserves physiological blood flow, and is wirelessly recharged via transcutaneous energy transfer, sharply lowering infection risk. Implantation is performed on a beating heart through a minimally invasive 90-minute procedure, giving surgeons a familiar workflow. The financing will be used to validate the therapeutic concept and to prepare the company’s first clinical trial, with an aim to launch clinical trials in 2015. LFB also provides bioproduction capacity through its subsidiary LFB Biomanufacturing and holds a minor equity participation in GamaMabs Pharma.
