eLichens develops patented micro gas sensors and a comprehensive AI-based platform for indoor and outdoor air quality analysis and prediction. Its product set includes sensor hardware and integrated stations aimed at smart city, smart home and smart building markets. The company plans to market large volumes of its micro gas sensors to industrial customers and deploy its platform at scale for urban gas leak detection, worker safety and energy-efficiency applications. Recent contracts with major international industrial groups have supported commercial traction and international expansion. Financially, eLichens completed a new EUR 7 million capital increase backed by historical investors and new entrants, following an earlier >EUR 4 million raise in July 2016. The team leverages patented technologies developed with partners such as CEA-Leti and MIT and maintains headquarters in Grenoble with offices in California. eLichens develops software and miniaturized optical micro-sensors to digitalize air quality and deliver hyper-local, personalized air-quality information. Its innovative, patented solutions are developed jointly with research laboratories including CEA-Leti and target industrial, smart home, smart city and consumer electronics applications. The company emphasizes ultra-low power consumption sensors and a broad patent portfolio as technological differentiators. eLichens plans to accelerate time to market for smart sensor products and deploy solutions for gas/pollutants detection, analysis and prediction in consumer and industrial markets. The recently announced strategic fundraising of over €3 million will be used to deliver products to first customers, recruit talent and step up investment in innovation to complement its technology portfolio. Management says the team has established strategic industrial partnerships, has a presence in the US, Europe and Asia, and aims to become a leader in air quality services.

- FineHeart
Participated · Series A · Mar 2016
FineHeart is a clinical-stage medical device company headquartered in Bordeaux and Tours that is building FlowMaker®, the first fully implantable cardiac output accelerator designed for advanced heart failure. The intraventricular pump synchronizes with native heart contractions, preserves physiological blood flow, and is wirelessly recharged via transcutaneous energy transfer, sharply lowering infection risk. Implantation is performed on a beating heart through a minimally invasive 90-minute procedure, giving surgeons a familiar workflow. The technology addresses a market of about 200,000 patients a year and initially targets the 50,000 most severe cases not served by current LVADs, an opportunity valued at more than €5 billion. FineHeart protects its platform with 160 patents across 27 families. With the latest funding, the company plans to industrialize FlowMaker® hardware, run clinical trials, and solidify its leadership in active implantable medical devices (AIMDs).
