Enerbrain plans to use recent funding to strengthen international market position, develop new business models and expand R&D into energy transition and air-quality applications. Enerbrain develops an IoT energy-retrofit solution that turns wasteful buildings into smarter, healthier and more sustainable ones. The system uses plug-and-play sensors compatible with all HVAC systems to measure outdoor and indoor temperature, relative humidity, CO2, pollutants and occupant counts. A device and machine-learning algorithms regulate ventilation, heating and cooling in real time and continuously refine programming to eliminate waste. The company reports that two days of installation can permanently cut energy consumption by about 30% while improving indoor air quality and thermal comfort. Enerbrain has commercial traction, including contracts with multi-utility IREN and a project to retrofit 89 Turin City Council buildings expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 1,400 tonnes. Founded in 2015 and based in Turin, Enerbrain won the EIT Digital Challenge 2018 and joined the EIT Digital Accelerator to support international growth. After closing a €2M financing round, the company plans to use the funds to accelerate international expansion and develop new patents in the energy efficiency sector.
