VCharge, based in Barrington, Rhode Island, has developed a patented cloud-based Transactive Load platform. The platform enables electric thermal storage heaters, electric cars and other devices to participate intelligently in electricity markets. The company is led by CEO Jessica Millar. VCharge intends to use new funding for technical development, to improve its core product and for additional hires. The company recently appointed Gene Zimon, former CIO of Massachusetts utility NSTAR and president of EDGE Advisers, to its board. VCharge has raised $1.9M in funding.
