Overview

Focus: We aim to be a best-in-class early-stage venture capital firm focused on investment and capital market technology. Strategy: We seek to back a generation of technology start-ups that will transform investment and capital allocation decisions. We are building an ecosystem of investors (LPs) and companies seeking to transform institutional investment. Stages: KDX is happy investing at the earliest stages of an entrepreneur's journey. For over a third of our investments, we were the first investors "in". We are also willing to back companies as late as Series A if there is a fit with our focus on digitizing institutional investment.

  • Ezra

    Participated · Seed · Mar 2026

Ezra develops institutional-grade AI infrastructure tailored to private capital markets, with a focus on asset-backed finance and private credit transactions. Its platform ingests unstructured deal data rooms and transforms them into auditable, structured datasets that feed automatically generated investment memos and due-diligence reports, all linked back to their original source documents. This architecture seeks to eliminate the hallucination issues that plague general-purpose AI models, giving investors higher confidence in AI-generated outputs. Early traction includes adoption by investment firms overseeing more than $6 billion in assets under management and supporting transactions across renewable energy, infrastructure, and fintech. Looking ahead, the company plans to deepen technical integrations with capital providers and roll out dedicated investor and borrower portals. Proceeds from the recent seed round will fund expansion of engineering and data-science teams to accelerate these product initiatives. Ezra is headquartered in San Francisco and is led by co-founders Dan Rosen (CEO) and Dori Rutkevitz.

  • Thema

    Participated · Seed · Feb 2026

Thema is developing an AI-driven platform that continuously maps and updates software market structures, enabling private equity firms to assess portfolio risk, identify adjacencies, and plan expansion strategies with greater accuracy. Built on proprietary techniques created by co-founder Dr. Dimo Angelov, the system ingests web-scale data to generate versioned representations of companies and their competitive landscapes. By replacing fragmented consulting reports and static sourcing tools, the product delivers a real-time view of how markets cluster and evolve, highlighting opportunities and competitive threats that may otherwise be overlooked. The solution has been built in collaboration with tier-one PE firms and within a UK government-backed program run alongside the University of Cambridge. With fresh capital, Thema intends to accelerate R&D, grow its commercial team, and onboard additional customers. The company is headquartered in London. No revenue or user metrics were disclosed in the articles.

  • Catalyx Space

    Participated · Seed · Oct 2025

Founded in 2024 by Rifath Shaarook, Clinton D. Antony, Keerthan Chand Aluvala, and Saqib Hussain, Catalyx Space is developing the full back-end infrastructure needed to make low-Earth orbit function like a reliable logistics network. Its stack includes lightweight spacecraft buses, autonomous in-orbit labs with re-entry capabilities, non-canisterized deployment standards for smallsats, ground-station software, and proprietary reentry and recovery systems. The company’s flagship offering turns the traditionally unpredictable downmass leg of space missions into a schedulable service for microgravity-manufactured products, time-sensitive research, component returns, and sample logistics. Catalyx completed its first successful capsule drop test only six months after its pre-seed financing, demonstrating rapid technical execution. With $5.4 million in fresh seed capital—on top of a $1.7 million pre-seed round earlier in the year—the startup has raised $7.1 million to date. The new funds will be used to commercialize its next-generation reentry architecture, expand overseas operations, and scale global customer acquisition. Management positions Catalyx to tap into a space-infrastructure market projected to grow from $146 billion in 2024 to $308 billion by 2032.

  • Foresight

    Participated · Seed · Jun 2025

Foresight builds an AI-driven data mesh that unifies data from 50+ sources and applications (sourcing feeds, CRMs, cap tables, shared drives, KPIs, and fund accounting) into a single source of truth. Its SaaS modules embed that unified data into dashboards, analytics, and modeling tools for sourcing, diligence, and post-investment portfolio management. Since launching with founding customers in April 2023, Foresight’s software has been deployed at firms such as Forerunner and Kleiner Perkins and the company has formed partnerships with several large private-market data and services companies. The platform is marketed to private market investors, lenders, and acquirers to make sourcing, diligence, and portfolio management more data-driven. Foresight plans to use the seed capital to expand its product and GTM teams and is hiring through its careers page. The company is headquartered in New York City with a presence in San Francisco and was founded in 2023.
