Bobaek CNS develops and manufactures battery safety components and microporous insulation materials aimed at preventing thermal runaway in electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems (ESS). Headquartered in Gumi, the company is expanding production capacity and scaling a mass-production system for its insulation technology. It has raised roughly 100 billion won in cumulative funding (including about 80 billion won from Series A–B since 2023) to support production, R&D, and commercialization. The company currently employs around 250 people and plans to grow to over 400 in the second half of this year and to about 500 by 2027. Bobaek CNS is targeting 120 billion won in sales and a turnaround to profit this year, with plans to exceed 200 billion won by 2027 and 350 billion won by 2028, and to pursue a Kosdaq IPO in 2028–2029.

  • ILIAS Biologics

    Participated · Series B · Oct 2020

Ilias Biologics develops exosome-based therapeutics using its EXPLOR® platform, a novel protein-loading method that enables free-form loading of large therapeutic proteins into exosome lumens. The company’s lead candidate, ILB-202, produced promising preclinical data published in Science Advances, and Ilias secured a key exosome engineering patent from the USPTO in July. The Series B proceeds will support continued development of the EXPLOR platform and advancement of its exosome therapeutics pipeline across inflammatory diseases and oncology. Ilias plans to submit an IND to the U.S. FDA and initiate a first-in-human clinical trial by the second half of 2021 targeting an undisclosed acute inflammatory disease, and is in active discussions with multiple pharmaceutical companies for potential collaborations. Financially, the company has raised a total of $40.2M since its foundation in November 2015. Management is led by CEO Dr. Chulhee Choi and is planning an IPO on KOSDAQ in Q1 2022, with underwriter contracts being finalized.

  • ThorDrive

    Led · Series A · Apr 2020

ThorDrive develops a comprehensive full-autonomy platform (Thor AI Driver) integrating LiDAR, camera, RADAR, low-cost GPS and AI for perception, localization, planning and control in real time. The company says its stack has been validated through tests in U.S. Silicon Valley and Seoul road environments and through roughly 100,000 km of urban driving trials, including high‑precision positioning that works in GPS‑shadowed areas. ThorDrive plans to further advance level 4–5 full autonomous driving performance and to develop practical, service-ready autonomous driving technology in the near term. It reports strong interest from European global Tier‑1 suppliers and logistics and retail customers. Product deployment plans this year include autonomous personal-transport vehicles for mobility-impaired users at Incheon International Airport terminals 1 and 2, and a U.S. pilot with a European Tier‑1 partner to develop a new concept autonomous vehicle. The company has positioned its technology toward commercialization and market partnerships rather than demonstration-only projects.
