Participated · Equity · Mar 2021
Standigm develops workflow AI technology that spans novel target identification, lead generation, and drug repurposing through proprietary platforms such as Standigm ASK™, Standigm BEST™, Standigm Insight™ and the automated DarkMolFactory™. The company says it can generate first-in-class lead compounds within seven months and currently runs 22 in-house or collaborative drug pipelines. The recent $10 million investment will be used for clinical research of AI-driven drug compounds to strengthen Standigm’s competitiveness in the global market. Standigm has completed a series of investments from SK Chemicals and Pavilion Capital following a Pre-IPO funding round in March. NH Investment & Securities has been in charge of Standigm’s IPO process since March last year, indicating an ongoing push toward public markets. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Seoul, Standigm is pursuing full-stack, AI-driven industrialization of drug discovery by automating molecular design and expanding automation across the discovery process. Standigm applies proprietary AI platforms to industrialize drug discovery, covering target identification, lead generation, repurposing, and automated molecular design. Its platforms include Standigm ASK™ for target discovery, Standigm BEST™ for lead selection, Standigm Insight™ for repurposing, and DarkMolFactory™ for automated molecular design. The company reports more than 20 preclinical pipelines and collaborations with over ten pharmaceutical or academic partners, including SK chemicals, Hanmi Pharmaceuticals, HK inno.N, and Samjin Pharmaceutical. Standigm and SK holdings C&C opened the iCLUE&ASK™ target-identification platform to the public in September. Management says proceeds from the recent financing will bolster B2B sales and support FDA investigational new drug (IND) filings and global collaborations. Standigm holds two patents for its AI technology granted in 2021 and has repurposed an FDA-approved drug for rheumatoid arthritis with a partner and filed for a patent.
