  • Evigence Sensors

    Participated · Series B · Jan 2023

Evigence offers a Freshness Management System that combines sensors and data analytics to measure and manage food freshness in real time at the unit level, end-to-end across the supply chain. Sensors are applied at packing, react to aggregate time and temperature exposure, can be scanned digitally or read visually, and upload scan data to the Evigence Insights Engine for visualization and analytics. Customers include Marley Spoon and major US and European grocers, food brands, and foodservice providers piloting the system for supply-chain optimization and freshness-based inventory management. Pilot projects have shown measurable impacts including 20% shelf-life extension, a 5% increase in sell-through, a 33% reduction in waste, and 85% of Marley Spoon customers indicating they would like the program continued. The company holds 25 granted patents, meets strict WHO standards for vaccine vial monitoring, and originally licensed its vaccine-monitoring technology in 2016 before pivoting to fresh foods. Evigence plans to use new funding to advance data-collection and analytics capabilities and to launch additional commercial partnerships in the US and Europe; the company is based in Yokne'am, Israel, with commercial headquarters in Hoboken, New Jersey.

  • Highcon

    Participated · Equity · Jun 2017

Highcon is a Yavne, Israel–based creator of a digital cutting and creasing solution for the post-print market. Its core products use patented Digital Adhesive Rule Technology to create crease lines, alongside laser solutions for cutting and etching, introducing automation into finishing. The systems target traditional print applications such as packaging, greeting cards, folders, and large-format display items, enabling printers and packaging converters to offer differentiated services. Since launching at drupa 2012, the company has installed more than 50 machines worldwide. Highcon raised $20m in new funding in a round led by Jerusalem Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors Landa Ventures, LR Group, OurCrowd and Go Capital. The company will use the funds to expand global reach and continue product development of its digital finishing solutions. Highcon builds digital finishing machinery based on its patented DART (Digital Adhesive Rule Technology), most notably the Highcon Euclid and the upgraded Euclid II. The Euclid family converts cutting and creasing from an analogue to a digital workflow, enabling faster turnaround, lower costs, shorter run lengths and a reduced carbon footprint. The company emphasizes partnerships and pilots with customers such as American Greetings, Gafs Cartong, Skitza, Xeicon and Minolta to expand international presence. Founded in November 2009 and headquartered in Yavne, Israel, Highcon is led by co‑founders Aviv Ratzman and Michael Zimmer and counts industry pioneer Benny Landa as a large shareholder and strategic advisor. Since OurCrowd's initial investment in November 2013, Highcon reported that revenue more than doubled from 2013 to 2014. The company cites a large addressable market (the $82B folding carton segment within a $312B packaging market) and highlights the Euclid II's lower entry price and upgradability as drivers of future adoption.
