- Celea Therapeutics
Participated · Equity · Jul 2026
Celea Therapeutics is focused on advancing deupirfenidone (LYT-100), a deuterated form of pirfenidone, as a potential new standard of care for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other fibrotic lung conditions. Deupirfenidone has Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. FDA and the European Commission and completed a Phase 2b (ELEVATE IPF) trial that demonstrated potential stabilization of lung function over at least 26 weeks, with open-label extension data suggesting effects through 52 weeks. The company plans to initiate the pivotal global Phase 3 SURPASS-IPF head-to-head trial versus pirfenidone in early Q3 2026. Celea was founded by PureTech Health and is based in Boston. The company announced a $180 million financing to fund the planned Phase 3 program and further development activities.
- Leaf Agriculture
Led · Series B · Jun 2026
Founded in 2021 and based in San Francisco, Leaf Agriculture provides a data infrastructure platform that unifies and cleans farmer-owned data from machines, soil labs, weather stations, satellite imagery, and farm management systems. The company positions itself as the connective layer for agriculture, used by crop insurers, ag retailers, seed and chemical companies, compliance and sustainability partners, food processors, and commodity traders. Leaf says its platform enables crop insurers to pay claims in days, helps retailers deliver field-specific seed and chemical outcome models, and saves farmers hundreds of hours of manual data entry. The company processes data covering over 20% of global crop acres annually. Leaf raised a $13M Series B co-led by Leaps by Bayer and industry strategic investors, which it says will help expand its partner network and scale its data services.
- Ukko
Participated · Series C · Jan 2026
Ukko is developing next-generation allergy treatments by re-engineering allergenic proteins and delivering them via mRNA/LNP formulations to avoid severe reactions while retraining the immune system. Its lead drug candidate, UKK-0018, targets peanut allergy and has shown strong tolerability and protection against anaphylaxis in animal models. Regulatory clearance has been secured in Australia and New Zealand to launch a Phase 1/2a trial in 1H 2026 that will enroll roughly 32–40 adult subjects, with initial data expected in early 2027. The company’s proprietary platform is intended to be scalable to additional allergens such as milk, tree nuts, and respiratory triggers. Ukko recently strengthened its leadership team by appointing Matt Ottmer as COO and Grace Chen-Philips, M.D., as CMO. Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, and Rechovot, Israel, Ukko believes its approach can overcome safety and tolerability limitations of existing exposure-based desensitization methods. A $45 million Series C round is expected to fund operations, including the planned clinical study, through 2027.
- WellTheory
Participated · Series A · Oct 2025
WellTheory offers a research-backed, virtual care program that addresses the root causes of autoimmune conditions through diet, lifestyle, and high-touch support from registered dietitians and certified health coaches. Its AI-powered platform, featuring proprietary tools Care Hub and Care Scribe, personalizes care plans and supports scalable delivery. In just 18 months on the market, the company has secured partnerships with Fortune 100 and 500 employers, high-growth companies such as Maven Clinic, Fortune Brands Innovations, and Dayforce, as well as payors like Sentara Health Plans and a top national payor. Independent claims analyses show the service reduces ER visits, imaging, hospitalizations, and biologics use, saving partners thousands of dollars per patient annually. Over the last year, WellTheory recorded 10× year-over-year member growth and 5× revenue growth, highlighting strong demand and business traction. With the latest financing, the company has raised $26.2 million in total and plans to deepen employer and payor partnerships, expand programs targeting high-cost autoimmune conditions, and further invest in its AI personalization capabilities.
- NuCicer
Participated · Series A · Aug 2025
NuCicer develops high-protein chickpea varieties and sustainable ingredient solutions for food brands. Its products generate simply milled protein and flour ingredients that help companies meet protein and fiber targets without relying on highly processed isolates. The company operates a licensing-based model to scale rapidly through strategic supply chain partners, allowing adoption without disrupting existing infrastructure. NuCicer’s current variety matures 10–20 days earlier than most conventional chickpeas, reducing late-season weather risk and the need for chemical desiccants. It planted over 2,500 acres in 2025 and plans to 10x acreage by 2026. Led by CEO Kathryn Cook, NuCicer intends to use the new funding to expand operations and advance development efforts. NuCicer has developed a chickpea variety that contains up to 75% more protein than regular chickpeas, enabling much higher-yielding chickpea protein ingredients. The company says this could slash the cost of chickpea protein by nearly half — the first time a plant protein cost has been reduced this dramatically. Its ingredients target applications such as texturised vegetable protein (TVP) and alt-dairy products like yogurts. NuCicer is a father-daughter run startup founded by Kathryn Cook and UC Davis researcher Douglas Cook. The company will use new funding to support commercialisation trials and to scale its speed-breeding program to further develop and improve products. NuCicer recently closed an oversubscribed $4.5M seed round to advance those plans.
