Embedded Intelligence is building the interface of record for consumers to interact with AI through an embedded tool called Highlight AI that sits locally on desktops to provide contextual assistance. Highlight AI is a capture-based interface that operates as a secure intermediary layer between OS outputs and an LLM, paired with a Prompt Library and an App Runtime for Web Apps. The product enables users to run prompts and existing web apps as native, context-aware assistants, making many prompts as powerful as apps and removing the need for separate interfaces to summarize calls or explain code. Inspired by Andrej Karpathy’s vision of an LLM OS, the company emphasizes native context and keeping humans in control of AI workflows. Highlight AI is designed to let users trigger powerful AI workflows irrespective of language and without prompt engineering. The company announced a $10 million seed round to support continued development and deployment of Highlight AI.

Highlight builds a shared team memory and proactive command center that captures, models, and retrieves high-fidelity context across tools like Slack, Zoom, Linear, and Figma in real time. The platform combines user-controlled capture with a unified memory engine to synthesize meetings, decisions, ownership, and follow-up actions, and can draft follow-ups, create tasks, and sync documentation across systems. Highlight positions itself as an operating layer above apps to reduce coordination overhead and preserve institutional context as teams scale or roles change. The company announced a $40 million Series A to fund expansion and product work and appointed Sergei Sorokin, formerly VP of Product at Discord, as CEO. With the new capital, Highlight plans to double headcount and hire engineers, operators, and marketers in San Francisco to accelerate product development and go-to-market execution.
