  Lydus Medical, based in Ra’anana, Israel, develops a novel product line to automate creation of small blood vessel anastomoses. Its lead product, the Vesseal, enables precise, symmetrical and rapid connection of blood and lymph vessels from 4.0 to 0.5mm for procedures including breast reconstruction, lymphedema treatment, bypass surgery and hemodialysis access. The company’s pipeline includes a diverse portfolio of products all based on a patented invention. Led by CEO Jessica Weiss, Lydus plans to use the funding to accelerate FDA clearance, scale product development and prepare for market entry. The company raised $2.7m in a Pre-A funding round.

  AIT is a biotech company founded in 2011 by Mor Research Applications and based in Petah Tikva, Israel. The company develops formulations based on nitric oxide (NO) targeting infectious lung diseases such as bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, asthma and influenza. The University of British Columbia licensed the technology to AIT. AIT has completed $1.25M in funding and intends to use the capital to begin two clinical trials. Clalit Health Services, through its Soroka Medical Center, and Mor Research Applications will participate in the research and clinical trials. The company’s immediate plans focus on initiating those clinical studies using the newly raised capital.
