  • Gozem

    Participated · Series A · Dec 2021

Gozem operates a SuperApp that combines ride-hailing, delivery, digital payments (Gozem Money) and a vehicle-financing arm known as Gozem Financing, which uses a "Drive-to-Buy" instalment model across smartphones, motorbikes, three-wheelers and cars. As of late 2025 the company reported facilitating around one million trips per month, surpassing one million registered users, and counting nearly 10,000 registered drivers; it has financed over 7,000 vehicles and reported generating more than $90 million in cumulative earnings for 40,000 driver-partners. Public estimates of 2025 revenue vary (Latka reports $112.9 million while other estimates place it near $72 million), and the company had about 590 employees per Latka. Gozem has expanded its footprint to Togo, Benin, Gabon, Cameroon and, since November 2025, the Republic of Congo, and plans entry into Côte d'Ivoire by the end of 2026. The company has pursued strategic partnerships—such as with MTN Congo for Wi‑Fi–equipped financed vehicles—and used Series B capital to strengthen vehicle financing and accelerate rollout of its digital-money services. Its integrated ecosystem and vehicle-financing model are central to its growth strategy, though management faces operational and currency risks as it scales into larger, more competitive markets.

  • Kango

    Led · Series A · Jun 2019

Kango is an app-based rideshare and childcare service that offers vetted drivers and TrustLine-certified caregivers to transport children and provide standalone childcare. Founded in 2012, the service is currently available in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area and partners with schools, camps and other youth organizations. The company emphasizes safety through multiple background checks, DMV record checks, vehicle inspections, fingerprinting and caregiver certification, and says it is the only kids’ rideshare insured to drive children of all ages while offering on‑demand same‑day rides and childcare without time limits. Kango reports positive unit economics and states it makes money on completed rides whether booked by families or organizations. Strategic relationships include a partnership with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles to provide eligible drivers lease vehicles; investors include Structure Capital and now National Express.
