  • DeepSeek

    Participated · Equity · Jun 2026

DeepSeek is known for developing high-performance large AI models and maintaining popular open-source projects that have attracted over 170,000 GitHub stars and about 5.7 billion monthly API calls. Historically self-funded by its parent, High-Flyer Capital, the firm focused on foundational model research and resisted external investment until this recent financing move. Its next-generation flagship, V4, reportedly uses a trillion-parameter MoE architecture and is being deeply adapted to Huawei's Ascend chips to reduce dependence on NVIDIA's CUDA ecosystem. The company is raising external capital to cover the enormous compute and engineering costs of V4, to establish a market valuation for employee equity incentives, and to accelerate productization and ecosystem development. DeepSeek faces engineering and tooling challenges in migrating to a non-NVIDIA stack and must translate research-led capabilities into sustainable business products post-funding.

  • Tomoland

    Participated · Equity · May 2026

Tomoland operates a Web3 platform focused on user-generated content, aiming to merge creator-driven content with blockchain-enabled ownership. The company intends to build infrastructure that ties UGC to on-chain ownership models and to foster closer ties between games and the Web3 economy. Its recent $2 million raise, led by Sky9 Capital with participation from multiple VCs and angels, is positioned to fund that product and ecosystem work. The reporting does not provide founding year, location, revenue, or user metrics. Tomoland plans to use the capital to construct the technical and economic systems necessary for its proposed UGC–Web3 integration.

  • Blue Scarab Entertainment

    Led · Seed · Jul 2024

Blue Scarab Entertainment is a Sweden-based new studio focused on developing a debut MMORPG title. The studio is led by CEO Colin Cragg and CTO Enno Rehling, with former DICE creative director Craig Morrison serving as studio director. Guillaume Lhoyer is principal designer and Ashley Nicollette is community and marketing director; both previously worked on Helldivers 2 at Arrowhead Game Studios. Blue Scarab raised $7 million in a seed funding round to support development of its first game. The team says it aims to fuse and evolve prior gaming and media experiences to reach a wider, expanding audience and to defy genre expectations. The funding will be used to advance development and build out the studio's planned offerings.

  • BUD

    Participated · Series B · May 2022

BUD provides a drag-and-drop app for mainstream Gen Z users to design bulbous 3D characters, virtual assets and richly colored interactive spaces without any coding. Since launching in November, users have created over 15 million custom experiences and virtual assets on its marketplace have exchanged hands more than 150 million times. The app is free-to-use and currently ad-free; BUD is not charging commissions or otherwise monetizing the platform yet. It ranks among the top 10 social apps in nearly 40 countries and is the top free social Android app in Thailand and Vietnam. BUD plans to introduce an NFT marketplace so creators can record ownership and resell digital assets on the blockchain. The company has a team of about 130 employees across headquarters in Singapore and offices in Shenzhen and the U.S. BUD is an app that allows users to create customizable 3D experiences and interact with others, featuring cuddly characters reminiscent of Animal Crossing. It rolled out in November and quickly shot to the top 10 social apps on Android in several countries including the U.S., though its U.S. ranking later slipped into the 100s. The company says it has maintained three-digit month-on-month worldwide growth since launch. Founded in 2019 by former Snap engineers Shawn Lin and Risa Feng, BUD has grown to a team of 100 and plans to reach 200 employees by year-end and set up a global headquarters in Singapore. The product emphasizes drag-and-drop tools that enable non-technical users to build 3D worlds, positioning it alongside apps like Zepeto and Roblox. The company says it will use new funding to support product R&D and international user growth.
