Nova Capital

Octagon Point, 5 Cheapside, London, EC2V 6AA, United Kingdom

Overview

The typical market transaction involves the sale of one company at a time. However, there are situations where disposing of holdings in a number of businesses, in a single transaction, brings significant benefits - together with substantial time and cost efficiencies. Whether seeking a solution to illiquidity, the disposal of legacy assets or the freedom to implement strategic change, Nova offers the corporate and financial sellers an efficient and market value solution. Unlocked from their holdings, investors and owners are better positioned to focus on the benefits and opportunities this significant step change brings. Although principally an acquirer, Nova can also work with investors in private equity funds, where there is the need for a Replacement Manager or General Partner.

  • Cardiomatics

    Participated · Seed · Aug 2021

Cardiomatics provides a cloud-based AI tool that automates ECG interpretation and generates reports in minutes, detecting roughly 20 heart abnormalities. The startup announced a $3.2M seed raise (plus a $1M non-equity grant) to expand use of its ECG-reading automation technology. Its software integrates with more than 25 ECG monitoring devices and is used by over 700 customers across 10+ countries, having commercially analysed more than 3 million hours of ECG signals. The company says its development dataset contains over 10 billion heartbeats from approximately 100,000 patients, with 90% of data used for training and 10% for validation and monthly algorithm checks; clients also check performance in clinical practice. Cardiomatics received European medical device certification in 2018 and says it closely monitors evolving EU medical-device and AI regulations. It plans to use the seed proceeds for product development, scaling its AI technology, expanding in existing markets and preparing to enter new markets, including pursuing FDA certification and US entry.

  • D-Orbit

    Participated · Equity · Oct 2020

D-Orbit leverages its experience with flown orbital transfer vehicles to offer managed orbital logistics services, including last-mile payload delivery, orbital transfer and hosted services on a subscription basis. The company is pursuing a Deorbit-as-a-Service (DaaS) model intended to let customers define mission objectives while D-Orbit provides the vehicle and operations, aiming to reduce time and cost compared with buying dedicated hardware. Through the DIU/SDA award, D-Orbit Space will demonstrate rendezvous, docking and other on-orbit capabilities that could enable refueling, repair, inspection and repositioning missions in low Earth orbit. For the DaaS demonstration D-Orbit Space will lead the effort with partners TransAstra and Falcon Exodynamics. The company positions the service model as scalable and resilient to meet repeated government mission demands.
