Lovethesign is an Italian e-commerce startup that sells curated Italian-style furniture and homeware through a permanent selection and weekly flash sales. It offers about 15,000 products and partners with over 1,000 designer brands, including Flos, Alessi, Artemide, MdfItalia, Foscarini, Casamania, Magis, Seletti and Toiletpaper. Founded in late 2012 by Simone Panfilo, Laura Angius and Vincenzo Cannata—former e-commerce managers at Privalia—the company aims to bridge Italian design producers with a global audience. Lovethesign reports over 1 million customers, has shipped 60,000 products to date, and is growing 20% month-on-month. The recent Series A funding will be used to solidify its European presence and to finance a planned U.S. expansion. It competes with both design-focused startups like Madeindesign and monoqi and larger players such as publicly listed Wayfair. LoveTheSign is an e-commerce platform based in Milan focused on selling "Made in Italy" interior design. It offers a permanent online catalog of homemade works by young artists and items from small manufacturers, plus flash sales with up to 60% discounts. The site currently features 5,000 products from 220 partners. Co-founded by Simone Panfilo, Vincenzo Cannata and Laura Angius, the company targets design-conscious consumers seeking Italian-made pieces. LoveTheSign raised €1m to support its growth and international expansion. The company intends to use the funds to consolidate its presence in the Italian market and to grow internationally.

Pathwork Diagnostics develops molecular diagnostic tests for oncology, with a core product called the Tissue of Origin Test. The test identifies the source of cancers that are difficult to classify and is designed to work on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues, the most common clinical specimen type. Results are intended to be accurate and reproducible and are evaluated by physicians alongside the patient’s clinical history and complementary diagnostics. The company recently received U.S. Food and Drug (FDA) clearance for the test. Pathwork also signed a diagnostic discovery partnership in oncology with Novartis. Management says the recent financing will support commercial activities and enable expansion of the company’s product offerings. Pathwork Diagnostics, based in Sunnyvale, California, develops and sells diagnostic tests for cancer. The company’s core products are cancer diagnostic tests.
