  Charter is a NYC-based media and insights company focused on transforming the workplace by delivering actionable insights, real-time intelligence, and research-based best practices. It concentrates exclusively on future-of-work challenges to help organizations become more dynamic and equitable. The company plans to use its newly raised capital to expand operations and broaden its business reach. To support growth, Charter is adding a new research arm led by Emily Goligoski, who joins as Head of Research from The Atlantic. It is also expanding engineering, editorial, and operations teams and has hired Front-End Lead Engineer Yitz Jordan and Head of Business Operations Sarah Janowsky. Charter was founded and is led by media and startup veterans Kevin Delaney, Erin Grau, and Jay Lauf and recently closed a $3 million seed financing.

  The Juggernaut produces analysis and feature reporting for the South Asian diaspora; it was started by Snigdha Sur in October 2017. The outlet uses a networked contributor model with more than 100 contributors and a small full-time team of three. Its product mix includes a free newsletter, a seven-day free trial, and paid subscriptions priced at $3.99/month (annual), $9.99/month (monthly) and a $249.99 lifetime option; the trial converts to paid at over 80%. The Juggernaut intentionally avoids commoditized breaking news and focuses on deep, creative reporting with South Asian connections. During COVID-19 the company reported net subscriber growth of 20–30% month over month and says it has “thousands of subscribers.” The team is pacing hiring, relying on freelancers to control costs while planning to expand editorial projects.
