ConsejoSano’s core product is the Cultural Determinants of Health Engine, a two-way communications platform that uses cultural insights to build patient trust and engages people in more than 25 languages via texting, email, phone, and mail. The platform is used by four of the top five managed care plans and currently engages 1.5 million patients across 12 states while collecting over 2 million cultural data points. ConsejoSano says its technology has enabled more than 50,000 telemedicine appointments for lower-income Medicaid and Medicare patients and supported a roughly 340% increase in two-way interactions. The company reported nearly 400% growth in annually recurring revenue from 2019 to 2020. ConsejoSano is applying its platform to COVID-19 education and outreach for underserved populations to improve preventative care, chronic disease management, and overall health equity. The company’s stated mission is to close gaps in multicultural patient care by delivering culturally- and linguistically-familiar communications to diverse populations. ConsejoSano is a San Francisco-based digital health platform that helps Spanish speakers navigate America’s healthcare system. Led by founder and CEO Abner Mason, it offers an integrated service including HIPPA compliant multi-channel messaging, care navigation, data analytics and 24/7 access to native-Spanish-speaking medical navigators. The majority of its clients are health plans, employers and at-risk providers seeking to increase engagement from Spanish-speaking customers, employees and patients. In February 2017 the company raised $4.9m in a Series A round, bringing total funding to $7.2m. The Series A was led by 7wire Ventures with participation from Tufts Health Ventures, TOTAL Impact Capital, Wanxiang Healthcare Investments, Acumen, Oxeon Partners and Impact Engine. ConsejoSano will use the funds to develop its capability to collect data analytics to improve preventive care for Spanish speakers.
