- pQCee
Participated · Seed · Jul 2026
pQCee develops practical and interoperable post-quantum cryptographic software aimed at protecting enterprise data from future quantum threats. The company emphasizes solutions that help organizations comply with emerging global security regulations. Headquartered and founded in Singapore, pQCee focuses on defending against harvest-now-decrypt-later attacks. Financially, it has just completed a $3.9 million seed round — its second institutional financing. pQCee plans to use the new funding to grow its Singapore workforce and expand its market reach across Asia, with accelerated entry plans for the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East.
- Naturbeads
Participated · Series A · Nov 2024
Naturbeads develops a patented process to refine cellulose into perfectly round, biodegradable microbeads intended to replace plastic microplastics in cosmetics and multiple industrial applications. The company commercialises a continuous manufacturing process and built its first production plant in Puglia, Italy, targeting a 2026 product launch and a production ramp in June. Its cellulose beads are being tested in cosmetics, personal care, paints and coatings, adhesives, packaging and other applications, and the company claims they are 100% biodegradable with performance comparable to plastic microbeads. Naturbeads was founded in 2018 as a University of Bath spin-out by Professor Davide Mattia, the late Professor Janet Scott, and CEO Giovanna Laudisio. Financially, Naturbeads raised a €8.9 million Series A in 2024 led by Eos Advisory and has now received a €4.1 million EU grant to help fund its plant and R&D. The company expects regulatory changes in the EU banning certain microplastic uses to drive increased demand for its alternatives.
- NEU Battery Materials
Participated · Seed · Jul 2023
NEU Battery Materials is commercialising a proprietary process that recovers battery-grade lithium from end-of-life lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. In 2025 the company beat its 2028 critical technology benchmarks three years early, validated its process at pilot scale, and began semi-commercial operations in Singapore. The next step is a 1,300-ton-per-year semi-commercial plant that will handle a range of LFP feedstocks while lowering both cost and emissions relative to virgin lithium extraction. Growing global energy-storage deployments and new critical-mineral regulations in the U.S. and EU are driving demand for such circular-economy solutions. NEU has earned industry recognition, winning EPIC Hong Kong’s overall championship and placing as a Top 4 finalist at the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch Forum. With its recycling technology, the company aims to strengthen mineral security, reduce supply-chain risk, and support the clean-energy transition through strategic commercial partnerships and global collaborations.
- Insectta
Participated · Equity · May 2023
Insectta developed a proprietary two-step process and trade-secret purification to extract chitosan and water-soluble melanin from black soldier fly cocoon shells and other biomass. The company produces five outputs—chitosan, melanin, proteins, probiotics and minerals—with chitosan and melanin positioned as its core, higher-value products. Its melanin is nanoparticle-sized, water-soluble and produced at pilot scale (about 210 grams per month), which the team says is orders of magnitude larger than current industry bulk quantities; they target personal wellness and emerging applications in organic electronics and biomedicine. Chitosan is marketed for personal wellness, cosmetics and pharma uses, with target pricing around S$100/kg (mid-range of a cited S$50–200/kg market). Insectta stopped farming in Singapore and sources black soldier fly feedstock from Southeast Asian farms while keeping IP focused on extraction so it can work with contract manufacturers and remain asset-light. The company also highlights a novel wastewater-treatment step that recovers additional products and reduces discharge costs.
