Duckbill operates a digital container logistics platform that offers intelligent dispatching, transportation management, real-time track-and-trace, instant quotations, bookings and inspection services via its self-developed platform. The company emphasizes R&D and digitalization—R&D personnel made up about 30% of staff at the end of 2021 and it develops in-house IP annually. By the end of 2021 Duckbill controlled over 2,100 trucks, partnered with about 13,000 vehicles, and handled roughly 1.1 million TEU of orders that year. It serves over 9,000 companies and lists clients including Sinotrans, COSCO Shipping, Midea and Cainiao. Duckbill is expanding to additional Chinese ports and is developing driver-facing services (Future Truck Boss) to improve driver onboarding and efficiency. The company is incubating an autonomous-driving sub-brand, BOOM, targeting a production model by 2024 and mass production capability by 2025, and aims to build a fleet of more than 10,000 trucks by 2025. Duckbill is a Shanghai-based container trucking and drayage service platform offering intelligent dispatching and transportation management. Led by founder Tang Hongbin, the company also provides value-added services such as customs declaration and cargo loading surveillance. By the end of 2020 it was serving 6,000 freight forwarders and shippers and had transported 700,000 TEUs across China. Its operations are active in Shanghai, Qingdao, Taichang, Ningbo and Shenzhen. The company intends to use the funds to improve current solutions, expand to all major ports and introduce additional products. The platform combines transportation services with operational software to streamline container movement and customer services.
