- Helsing
Led · Series D · Jun 2025
Founded in 2021 by Dr. Gundbert Scherf, Torsten Reil, and Niklas Köhler, Helsing develops defence software, drones, and broader military systems across air, land, sea, and underwater domains. The company has expanded into underwater defence capabilities and introduced Lura, a submarine detection and surveillance platform, earlier this year. Helsing holds an active €1.46 billion drone contract with the German military, reflecting significant government demand. Its valuation rose to €12 billion after a €600 million Series D in 2025, and the current fundraising would peg it at roughly $18 billion. Despite U.S. investors leading the new round, the company remains about 80% European-owned. Helsing faces growing competition from other defence and autonomous systems firms, including U.S. entrants such as Anduril.
- Epiterna
Led · Equity · Aug 2023
Epiterna is a Swiss biotech start-up that has developed a high-throughput platform to evaluate drugs and assess their effect on healthy lifespan. Founded in 2022 by Kevin Perez and Alejandro Ocampo, the company emerged from stealth as it announced outside investment. CEO Alejandro Ocampo, who brings fifteen years of experience studying ageing, said the team aims to translate laboratory discoveries into longer, healthier lives for companion dogs, cats and people. Epiterna plans to start its first clinical trial for companion dogs in Europe in 2024 and intends to initiate clinical trials for people before launching its first products for companion animals. The company received an investment believed to be about €10 million from Prima Materia, the firm founded by Daniel Ek and Shakil Khan. Detailed financial terms and instruments were not disclosed in the announcement.
