Founded in 2014 by Pranav Dangi and based in Mumbai, The Hosteller operates a network of hostel properties offering dorms, private rooms and cafes focused on community-driven travel experiences. The company says it operates more than 75 properties across 13 states and has hosted over 20 lakh unique travellers. Over the past 12 months it added over 30 properties and increased traveller capacity by nearly 70%. The Hosteller is targeting 25,000 beds nationwide within the next 36 months and plans to launch a travel super app that integrates accommodation, F&B, mobility and curated experiences. Financially, it has raised a $1M pre-Series A in 2021, a $5.7M Series A in 2024 (mix of debt and equity), and the Rs 150 crore Series B in the current round to fund expansion and operational scaling. The company competes with chains such as goSTOPS, Wudstay and Backpackers Panda.
