Prostor Capital – a Russian venture fund focused on profitable investments in dynamically growing companies of IT & Internet markets. The Fund was incorporated in 2011 by a group of private investors. A famous Russian investor and enterpreneaur Leonid Reiman and one of the leading top-managers of IT industry Sergey Merkulov are among its co-founders and co-investors. Prostor Capital Management Sergey Merkulov, a Managing Partner, one of the leading Top-managers in IT-industry with over 20 years of managerial experience. He is responsible for the Fund strategy, cooperation with investors, as well as a number of sectorial segments are under his management. Alexey Solovyov, a Managing Director of the Fund. He is responsible for the Fund’s overall management, organisation and functioning coordination of the Managing Company and the Investment Committee; a BOD member of several portfolio companies. It is developing a physician and hospital ranking system to help users make informed healthcare choices. The startup positions itself to meet rising demand for quality online healthcare services in Russia. VitaPortal offers a centralized website delivering reliable health and medical information, with every article reviewed by specialty care providers or medical institutions. The site publishes roughly 50 new articles daily and is modeled on the U.S. website WebMD. During an initial test period the portal attracted more than 400,000 visitors and currently reports over 10,000 unique visitors per day; management projected 3.5 million users by the end of 2011. The company plans to expand its range of special services and to launch a dedicated website for doctors. VitaPortal is led by CEO Azamat Ulbashev and was launched by venture group Fast Lane Ventures. Financially, the project has received seed investments totaling more than $1 million.
