  • terralayr

    Participated · Equity · Jan 2026

Headquartered in Zug, terralayr builds, owns, and operates large-scale battery energy storage facilities and complements these physical assets with LAYR, a digital platform that virtualises batteries and provides a route-to-market for both terralayr-owned and third-party assets. The company positions its technology as a critical enabler of grid flexibility and stability amid Germany’s accelerating renewable power deployment and rising electricity demand. Terralayr intends to rapidly expand its battery asset base while simultaneously scaling the LAYR marketplace to serve utilities, asset owners, and flexibility traders. The firm’s growth strategy focuses on addressing Germany’s need for reliable, flexible power infrastructure and supporting the broader energy transition. A recently secured €192 million financing package provides the capital to accelerate project build-outs and platform development. The round underscores investor confidence in terralayr’s ability to combine infrastructure deployment with digital optimisation. Although the company has not disclosed revenue or capacity metrics, the new funding markedly strengthens its balance sheet for the next phase of expansion.

  • Electra

    Participated · Series B · Jan 2024

Electra builds and operates ultra-fast EV charging stations, offering a full-stack solution that includes in-house charger operating software, a consumer app, and a fleet management platform. The company currently runs more than 500 stations comprising over 3,000 active charging points and serves 500+ commercial fleets. Electra plans to scale its footprint to 2,200 stations and 15,000 high-power charging points by 2030, focusing on dense urban areas, transit hubs, business districts, and major traffic corridors. Each site is being developed into an intelligent energy hub that can integrate battery storage and solar generation to optimise grid load and energy costs. The company participates in the Spark Alliance, giving its users access to over 11,000 compatible chargers across Europe. Since inception Electra has raised more than €1 billion, including over €600 million in equity and the newly secured green loan facility, to fund the roughly €1.1 billion of infrastructure investment required for its roadmap. Management prioritises deep market leadership in its existing nine countries over rapid geographic overextension, while remaining open to opportunistic M&A that meets strategic and cultural fit criteria.
