  • PreShow

    Participated · Seed · Apr 2021

PreShow Interactive builds an app that lets users connect their in-game accounts, watch ad packages, and receive purchased virtual currency transferred directly to their accounts. The product targets PCs, consoles and virtual-reality games and aims to support roughly 20,000 games at launch. Users must download a separate PreShow app to watch ads and claim rewards rather than integrating ads into individual games. The company uses technology to detect when viewers are actually looking at their screens and will pause ads if the viewer looks away, a feature some critics call invasive while early users reportedly embraced it. PreShow shifted focus from theatrical movie ticket offers to gaming due to pandemic-related changes in moviegoing, but plans to eventually offer both movie and gaming deals under one roof. The startup is led by MoviePass founding CEO Stacy Spikes and recently closed financing to support the product rollout.
