Advertisers can sponsor content enrichment, use the trivia platform for user research, or enrich branded videos to increase engagement. The interactive unit requires a click to activate; on average users interact with it for 24 seconds. The company has a commercial partnership with AOL that exposes its platform to millions of viewers every month. Carambola plans to use new funding to open a U.S. office, scale its product offering, and forge additional partnerships with large-scale video publishers and brands.

The company recently released a redesigned version of the platform with multiple new features. Getonic positions its product to address impulse purchases by bringing stores into social channels rather than sending users off-platform. The startup targets millions of small and medium-sized businesses that want simple social commerce tools. Getonic is led by CEO Adi Eyal, was founded in 2010, and is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. Financially, the company has raised more than $1.3 million in total funding.
