  EdgeWave is a San Diego-based cybersecurity company led by Mike Walls that provides enterprise security solutions validated by several thousand customers. The company shifted from content monitoring and management toward broader IT security after acquiring Red Condor in 2010. Its cyber-threat detection initiatives are led by retired U.S. Navy Capt. Mike Walls, who oversees threat detection and management for the company’s SMB clients and a handful of large enterprises. EdgeWave was originally financed through a special purpose acquisition company called Sandhill IT. The company is based in San Diego and counts customers such as Esurance, Susquehanna Health, and the U.S. Tennis Association’s U.S. Open among its clients. It intends to use the latest financing to boost sales and marketing efforts.
