Founded in 2021 and based in Toulouse, France, Metavonics designs next-generation avionics solutions for safety-critical aircraft systems. Its approach is modular: the company supplies standardized, certified electronic components alongside software tools that simplify development, integration, and lifecycle evolution of avionics functions. This architecture aims to cut weight, energy consumption, and cost while boosting overall system performance and maintainability. By streamlining the creation and certification of embedded avionics, Metavonics helps aircraft makers enhance operational safety and efficiency. The startup has attracted the attention of major industry players seeking to modernize critical embedded systems. To accelerate its roadmap, Metavonics secured a €7.3 million Series A financing from strategic investors. The fresh capital provides resources for continued product development, certification activities, and deeper commercial partnerships with aerospace OEMs.

Founded in 2021, OXCCU is developing proprietary catalysts and reactor designs that directly hydrogenate CO₂ to create hydrocarbon syncrude branded as OXFUEL, which can be refined into jet-fuel-grade SAF. Its single-step, iron-based Fischer-Tropsch process eliminates the RWGS stage and reduces hydrogen demand, promising lower capital and operating costs than competing e-fuel pathways. The company operates from Begbroke Science Park and London Oxford Airport, where its OX1 demonstration plant was validated in 2024. OXCCU is positioning OXFUEL to help the UK meet its target of 10% SAF in jet fuel by 2030 and is now researching how its fuel can limit non-CO₂ warming effects such as soot-induced contrail formation. Financially, the start-up secured €20.6 million of initial funding in June 2023, followed by a €23.7 million round in September 2025, and most recently obtained a €2 million grant from the ATI Non-CO₂ Programme. These funds support technology scale-up, commercial deployment and climate-impact validation, underscoring OXCCU’s emergence as a leading UK climate-tech innovator.

mirSense develops miniaturised quantum cascade laser (QCL) modules and compact infrared gas sensors used across defense, industrial, and environmental applications. Its powerMir range targets airborne defense countermeasures and the company says it is the only independent global supplier of these ITAR-free laser modules. mirSense is also advancing the uniMir spectroscopy platform for industrial and environmental gas detection, including BTEX compounds. The company plans to scale production and commercial deployment by expanding its Orsay headquarters, opening a production site in Grenoble, and upgrading its R&D center in Montpellier. mirSense secured a €7M Series A to accelerate industrialisation of its QCL and miniature gas sensor technologies. Customers cited include defense, industry, and environmental-sector buyers seeking compact, high-performance infrared laser systems.

Estuaire offers a flight data analytics platform built around its E-Engine technical stack, which uses data fusion and cloud computing to integrate radar flight tracks, numerical weather predictions, passenger load factors, and climate and flight-physics models. The platform helps airlines and airports cost-effectively minimize CO2 and non-CO2 emissions (including contrails) and enables aviation financiers to assess climate exposure and craft sustainable investment policies. Estuaire is a qualified data provider for the Pegasus Guidelines, the main framework for climate-aligned aviation finance. The company is working with customers and partners such as Vueling, SkyAlps, Nordic Aviation Capital, Societe Generale, Daher, Safran, Ascendance Flight Technologies and Hynamics, and reports a growing pipeline across verticals. The founding team comprises brothers Maxime and Nicolas Meijers, both pilots, and is supported by senior advisors including contrail scientist Ulrich Schumann and industry executive Alexandre de Juniac. Estuaire says it aims to monitor emissions across the entire aviation value chain and develop solutions to reduce those emissions.

INERATEC develops modular chemical plants for Power-to-X and gas-to-liquid applications that convert renewable hydrogen and CO2 into drop-in e-fuels (e-kerosene, CO2-neutral gasoline, clean diesel) and synthetic chemicals (waxes, methanol, SNG). Founded in 2016, the company focuses on decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries such as aviation, shipping, road transport, and chemicals. It has raised over $129 million in a Series B to scale up production and begin mass manufacturing of industrial-scale Power-to-X units. INERATEC is already building its largest factory to date in Frankfurt and is expanding via projects in the Netherlands and Chile. Management says the planned expansion will increase production roughly 1,500-fold and could recycle more than 12,000,000 metric tons of CO2 annually. The financing is intended to accelerate mass production and global deployment of its modular plants to meet rising demand for drop-in e-fuels.
